One week after the renowned regatta ‘Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez’, Saint-Tropez’s yacht-filled port is set to experience another additional dose of glamour when almost 500 classic and contemporary Porches arrive there this October. The parade will be one of the many highlights on offer during Paradis Porsche, a gathering of enthusiasts that’s been held annually since 1993. Registered owners will travel internationally to admire different models, showcase their own prized possessions and enjoy an outstanding line-up of events over three days. 

Each day has been organised to offer some of the very finest experiences the French Riviera can boast. Drivers can look forward to sessions on both the Paul Ricard and Luc circuits, while those hoping to see a little more of the city’s beautiful coastline can enjoy a trip on an Offshore Catamaran Tornado or a helicopter ride over the Gulf of Saint Tropez. Evening entertainment will include opening and closing gala events featuring delicious dinners and cabaret acts, as well as an additional cocktail party at ‘Caves du Roy’ on the Saturday night. 

However, the main event will be on the Sunday, when owners will gather in Paradise Park to take part in competitions, before driving through the city’s winding streets and alley ways in an awe-inspiring display. Now one of the largest annual gatherings dedicated to the German sports car manufacturer, it's become unmissable for enthusiasts who share in its passion and those who simply admire the finer things in life. With the annual theme based around the iconic 911 G-Series Coupe and a whole host of truly decadent events lined-up, Paradis Porsche will offer an exciting day or evening out during a stay at Amarante Golf Plaza.

Collobrières 

11th, 18th and 25th October 2015

Roasted chestnuts are a warming treat enjoyed by many during autumnal evenings, and the rural town of Collobrières will be offering the ultimate celebration of their delicious taste this month. Located within the rolling hills of the Massif des Maures, Collobrières has become famed for its annual Chestnut Festival that takes place on the last three Sundays of October. Known to attract crowds of 30,000, its streets will be filled with an artisan market boasting between 100 and 150 exhibitors and a programme of family-friendly entertainment. 

Local farmers will open this gates to the public to offer insight into their trade and a chance to sample their produce including vineyard and chestnut producers, Campagne la Tuillière and, by appointment, Châtaigneraie Godissard; a traditional chestnut grove that makes chestnut cream, honey, wines and jam. Each Sunday will also offer different themed events, with cooking workshops on the 11th, a celebration of the town’s twinnings with Frabosa Sottana and Pujerra on the 18th and demonstrations of traditional trades on the 25th. Bands and folklore groups will provide toe-tapping performances, children will be able to join in Provençal games and visit a miniature farm with ponies, and those in the area on the 1st of November can also look forward to a Chestnut Race. 

The three day festival will offer a unique chance to discover local culture in Collobrières, where 2,200 acres of land is dedicated to harvesting chestnuts alone. Trees were introduced into the Massif des Maures during the 10th century, however crops took a sharp decline until being revived during the 80’s, and this will be the 33rd year Collobrières has celebrated its prized harvest. With a wide variety of entertainment and a delicious array of products to try, the Fêtes de la Châtaigne will be well worth the hour’s drive from our luxury hotel for a fun-filled Sunday for the whole family.
